‘e’ Biking in Perthshire and beyond

ON TWO WHEELS

Welcome to ‘on two wheels’ where I record some of my favourite cycling routes mostly around Perthshire, but also further afield. I have cycled for as long as I can remember, but found recently that, as I get older, distances cycled get less and hills become a bit more challenging. So, after intense lobbying from my knees and a recognition that my waistline is in sympathy with my age, i.e it never reduces, I have purchased an ‘e’ bike.

You may have also guessed that I live in Perthshire an absolute haven for cycling. The area offers cyclists a backdrop of mountains, stunning lochs, raging rivers and rolling agricultural land, remote railways stations, ruins, and castles it’s all there. It’s where I do most of my cycling, but lets not forget, Perthshire is only a small part of Scotland and I do take trips ‘abroad’ to places like Angus or the west coast, even ‘over the watter’ to the islands.

Here, you will find a record of some of the routes I cycled during 2025. The routes are mostly quiet country roads, some cycle paths and a couple of ferries! All are below 50 miles and should be ‘doable’ on an ‘e’bike with a decent sized battery.

I can’t include interactive maps (my website budget excludes this luxury) , however they are available on Komoot.com. For a brief description see the My Routes link below.
